Philosophy & Approach

Rebuilding relationships with food

Nutrition

I believe you should be able to eat food without shame or guilt. I practice a non-diet approach. Our focus will be on balance and variety, and for each individual that's a little different. Food should taste good to you, nourish your body, and provide you with energy and good health.  Trying to be “perfect” with your eating causes stress.  When each person learns how to use the resources available to them to the best of their ability, they can trust that they are effectively supporting their health.

Working Together

My approach is individualized to suit your needs. I have a genuine interest in helping you achieve your nutrition goals, and to do this, I want to support your well-being as a whole person. I will get to know you and will help you see your full potential.

I’ll work with you to identify where we can improve your food and nutrition habits. I’ll provide gentle, affirming guidance on how to modify your dietary intake and food choices, and I’ll empower you with nutrition education and actionable tips that will help you achieve your goals. I’ll also challenge you to keep improving your relationship with food, supporting and encouraging you along the way.

Support When & Where You Need It

If you are transitioning from an inpatient or residential eating disorder treatment setting, going home can feel overwhelming. You leave the structure of the “facility bubble”, and you are faced with real life. It is important to maintain a routine, and your new schedule will require some changes to your meal plan and eating schedule.

Together, we will take all the valuable lessons you learned and utilize them so that you successfully continue on your journey to sustaining your health and rebuilding your relationship with food.
